GATINEAU, August 2, 2017 – The signature horticultural event has greeted its 500 000th visitor at 2 PM this afternoon. M. Jacques Bélanger from Chicoutimi Quebec received quite a welcome while entering the site at MOSAÏCANADA150 - GATINEAU 2017 in Jacques-Cartier Park.

To the applause of volunteers, horticulturists and other visitors, M. Bélanger was presented with gift bags full of items baring the image of the exhibit and, of course, a copy of the recently launched Souvenir Album. “My brother was here a couple of weeks ago and recommended that we make a stop at MOSAÏCANADA150 during our vacation. This is a wonderful surprise and I can’t wait to see this exhibition with my own eyes”, said M. Bélanger.

Barely 33 days after the grand opening, the number of visitors thus far greatly surpassed the expectations of the organization who would like to acknowledge the important contribution of its precious partners and collaborators: Canadian Heritage, the Royale Canadian Mint, the National Capital Commission, Tourisme Quebec, Ville de Gatineau, Gatineau 2017, Tourisme Outaouais and CBC/ Radio-Canada.

Executive Vice President and General Manager of Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montréal and creator of the exhibit, Ms. Lise Cormier, is delighted about this wonderful news. « We are extremely happy that the Canadian population and foreign visitors appreciate this gift offered by the Government of Canada, the Government of Quebec and the City of Gatineau for the 150th anniversary of our country. Just last week I was signing Souvenir Albums on the site and I met people from Australia, the Philippines, Columbia and Germany. Our past experiences at Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montréal have showed how much people love the art of mosaïcultures. This exhibition makes no exception and we are absolutely enchanted”.

MOSAÏCANADA150 - GATINEAU 2017 is a horticultural exhibit presented by Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montréal. Produced for the 150th Anniversary of Canada’s Confederation, the FREE event is located at Jacques-Cartier Park in Gatineau until October 15th, 2017
